Kenting is undoubtedly my favourite place to visit in Taiwan. A place that I won't mind to visit again and again as you can totally chill at the beach or top of the mountain with breathtaking scenery surround you. The background of my blog was capture in Kenting LongPan Park.

We touched down in Taiwan at 11 pm and took 1819 bus from Taoyuan Airport to Taipei Main Station. The ticket costs TWD125. We meet with another group of friends who were there earlier than us and head down to Kenting together.
Our first meal in Taiwan was food from convenient store. They served a large variety of food here that will make it hard for a decidophobic to make a decision. If you going for a budget trip you can settle your meal in convenience store as they are really cheap and nice. The Riceball with Milktea only costs TWD39! The milk tea is one of the best milk tea I ever taste that I can't find it back in Malaysia.

We took 2am bus to head to Kaohsiung. The bus tickets was pre-booked online as there is early bird promotion. Unfortunately I dont think they have a English booking site. Even I find it hard to understand their Chinese sometime. Anyway you can still buy it straight from the counter that is open 24/7 in Taipei Mainstation.
There have a lot of taxi driver offer you to ride to Kenting that charges TWD300/person. In our case, the hostel arranged the transport for us that costs TWD200/person. We have two nights stay in 墾丁峰情海灣館 (KenTingFengQingHaiWanGuan) where you can book it through their FB pages. We book two rooms with 3 private bathroom for 13 person .
It's a 5 stars stay over here. The staff are friendly and helpful in help you to arrange transport around Kenting. They served typical Taiwanese breakfast (porridge with sidelines and toast bread) and provide washing machine for your dirty clothes. The sunny weather in Kenting made the clothes dry within half a day. The hotel also provide free shuttle services to attraction nearby the hotel such as Mt Guanshan (the best place for sunset), Houbihu, MaoBiTou, BaiSha and Kenting Night Market. You can arrange the schedule with the staff over there.

So first we have our lunch in Houbihu Marina 後壁湖. They served cheap and fresh seafood (TWD100 Sashimi). We have our lunch at Stall no.9 阿興生魚片as I learnt from online review Stall no1 and 9 served the best quality of food. (Indeed they have the longest queue among other stall).

Opening hours: 11:00-19:30pm
There's a paper for you to order what food you want with standard serving sizes and prices. Tick what you like to eat and pass it back to the owner and wait for your table. We waited half an hour till our turn and while waiting we can walk around since they have our contact number. The marketplace basically sell all kinds of seafood product.

After lunch then we headed to 白砂(沙)湾 BaiShaWan (White Sand Bay). That's the place of filming for the movie Life of Pi. You can find the statues of a tiger and boat at the entrance of the bay. It is as beautiful as shown in the movie and is less crowded. We spent three hours enjoying beautiful blue sky, crystal clear water, white sands and sound of wave at there. I can't recall when is the last time I see such a beautiful beaches.

There's vendors at the entrance of the beach that provide shower services, drinks and beach umbrellas. Each with different charges: Using the pipe will cost TWD10, Shower services TWD50 and beach umbrella is TWD250. There's also water activity available like banana boats. If you want to barbecue, you have to do it at the campground as it is illegal to BBQ on the sandplace.
When we chilled enough at the seaside, we went to Kenting Street Night Market 垦丁大街夜市 for our dinner. The stalls are placed at both side of the street selling typical Taiwan night market street food. One of the special street food ONLY in Kenting is the fried milk and fried oreo. Nothing can goes wrong with Oreo. So the fried Oreo is one of the must try street food in Kenting. I was too busy eating that I didn't capture much pictures here. :p

You can find the famous Pearl Milk Tea Chain Store in Taiwan named,50 Lan 50嵐 in the middle of KenTing Street. I ordered BoBaNaiCha 波霸奶茶 (Pearl Milk Tea with larger pearl) Large that took me more than an hour to finish it but cost me less than TWD50. Very worthy and satisfying for a fans of pearl milk tea.
